KSI vs Jake Paul

As many people know, the more talk there is about KSI and Jake Paul, the more likely arguments are to break out over who would beat who in a fight. KSI vs. Paul is one of the biggest youtuber beef’s out there and definitely takes the cake when it comes to YouTube boxing.

KSI has had two fights with Logan Paul (Jake Paul’s older brother) one being a tie and the other a split decision favoring KSI. During their first bout, fellow YouTuber Deji was involved alongside KSI and fought Jake Paul on the same card. With Deji losing, Paul secured his first win and would move on to win by TKO (technical knockout) against yet another YouTuber, Gib. KSI would gain his first win against Joe Weller, and his second against Logan Paul.

Ever since the last fight, Jake Paul and KSI have been trash-talking each other. KSI bringing up the fact that he beat Jake Paul’s brother Logan and how Jake is next. Jake Paul has been bragging about beating Gib and Deji.

As time and the boxing community moved on, KSI and Jake did not. They argued over social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram and their own individual YouTube channels. This has gone on for over four years, with no respite from either side. This angered Jake at times and would tell KSI he’s ducking because he is too scared to find a date to set a pro boxing match and face him in the ring. KSI either just ignored these threats or told his fans that at some point he would fight Jake Paul. However he is too busy with music and is thus unavailable.

More recently, however, Logan Paul and KSI have settled their differences and gone on to make the brand name “Prime.” Jake Paul has been supportive of his brother and has expressed admiration at his success,  but he has never shown any respect or gratitude towards KSI, no matter what.

Currently, KSI and Logan Paul are doing fantastic finance wise, and will hopefully continue to do great things in the future. However, KSI and Jake Paul know they need to end the feud once and for all, and put an end to the years long delay. They have decided that in 2023, the scores will be settled. Both men will be in their prime, one will win and the other will take defeat. There will be no draw.

CKM’s New Late Policy

During second period on Friday, February 3rd, ASB’s morning announcements rang through each classroom bringing bad news to all students without perfect attendance habits. This article will provide McClatchy student body opinions as well as my personal perspective.

Teachers were instructed to read our school’s new late policy to the class, spurring groans and frustrated comments from unsupportive students. This policy tells that any student that cannot make it inside the school building before the 8:30 morning bell is no longer allowed to enter through the main building, and must instead walk to the auditorium to get a late pass.

At the auditorium, students have to share their name, grade level, and reason for tardiness to a staff member before they’re allowed to enter the school and find their first period class. Hundreds of students are late to school every day so it is expected that the line for late passes will be hefty.

In addition to this, if you are tardy more than once in a week, school administration will contact your parents to “offer interventions and advise on potential consequences.” Further tardies call for after-school detention and possible placement on an attendance contract.

In previous years, students were granted a 5 minute grace period when arriving late to first period. Now, if students make it to school even a minute after the bell rings, they must instead detour, and in turn, be much later to class.

On the first day of this new policy, students reported having to wait 20+ minutes in a line of over 80 people. Most of these students would have been 5-7 mins late if they were able to enter the school.

Personally, I don’t think this policy will last more than a month. The collective student attitude towards frustration and annoyance. And what good does it accomplish? Students being 4x later than before the policy. If I arrived at 8:31 and had to wait in that line, I’d turn around and skip.

Foods That Relieve Stress

The things we consume affect our mindsets, feelings, and actions. An individual may be eating the same thing everyday and not know whether it makes them feel better or worse.

According to statistics, 73% of people experience stress that impacts their mental health. However, a person’s favorite food might be the key to decrease stress levels.

Some people hate dark chocolate, while other people love it. Little do they know, it’s healthy for the mind. Dark chocolate includes 70% cocoa beans, rich in fiber and antioxidants that reduce stress. Researchers state, “Eating dark chocolate can change your brainwave frequency, providing benefits in memory improvements and stress reduction.”

Although pumpkin seeds can be eaten all-year around, they are most popular during autumn. Pumpkin seeds are actually very beneficial and do more than reduce stress.

Since pumpkin seeds contain a large amount of magnesium, it reduces blood sugar and blood pressure. In addition, the zinc, copper, and iron that are in pumpkin seeds help reduce anxiety.

A popular Korean side dish is found to lessen stress levels as well as maintain a healthy digestion. This dish is Kimchi, which is fermented vegetables. Kimchi includes beneficial bacteria known as probiotics which are high in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Researchers state, “710 young adults who often ate fermented foods experienced fewer symptoms of social anxiety.”

While garlic is unpleasant to consume when raw, it provides some benefits. Garlic is rich in antioxidants and preserves high amounts of allicin. Allicin is an organosulfur compound that is known to reduce stress and boost your immune system.

If an individual doesn’t like the idea of eating raw garlic, they could cook it. According to dietitian Laura Jeffers, “If you choose to cook it, don’t heat it above 140 degrees Fahrenheit.” If the temperature is too high, the allicin would be killed off and the garlic would lose its benefits.

Food is an important part of life. It’s a necessity to live and these foods can help minimize a person’s stress level and maintain a healthy body.

The Importance of Mental Health

The importance of mental health is everything and different for everyone.  Mental health can be a touchy subject because people have many different views. Some don’t believe in it and would  advise people to suck it up and it’ll get better eventually while others encourage you to talk about it.

Mental health is one of the most important things people deal with on a daily basis. The truth is it won’t get better unless one can do something to help themselves. Without stable mental health one cannot  reach their full potential.

People  may lose all motivation for things they would usually love to do.

Sometimes one doesn’t want to do simple things like get out of bed, take showers, eat, or go outside because it’s the little things that keep us sane. It may be difficult but once the task is done, it always feels better and there is only ourselves left to thank for it.  taking  it one day at a time, and trusting ourselves will help. No matter what, self care should be a priority . A pause would be nice, but it doesn’t always happen that way because life won’t stop for anyone. Don’tdwell on things that happen. There will always be bumps in the road, learn different ways to cope and keep going.

Someone’s mental health not only affects them but  everyone around them.  It’s better to not suppress feelings because it leaves them there for another time when something will set them off and  come out all at once.   Good mental health is necessary to create relationships with others and be ready for what life throws at us. One must take care of themselves, because at the end of the day they are left with nobody else but themselves.

Everyone goes through something at one point, or another. Sometimes it takes  losing oneself to find oneself.  Surrounding oneself with people who are going to make them feel better is key. Being in an environment that isn’t necessarily healthy may be another problem because it may feel inescapable which can be exhausting mentally and physically. . Exercising, coloring, going outside, hanging out with friends are great ways to help distract oneself from troubling times. ne may think its dumb and these things don’t work, but from experience I can say they do.  Walking outside can reduce your stress, improve sleep, increase your energy levels and many other benefits. It is important to figure out what works because we are all different, and all cope in different ways.
