A Taste You Need to Try

Down Freeport Boulevard, you can find a new Chinese restaurant that features bubbly decorations and welcoming workers. Taste of Original serves a variety of popular Chinese dishes that leaves mouths watering from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The restaurant is somewhat small, with a capacity of around 90 people and a maximum of twelve people at a table. The restaurant is decorated with many different Chinese texts describing friendships being made and other happy times. There are also traditional Chinese decorations such as the waving cat, and a variety of plants. I think this combination of decor would be appealing to people of all ages. That, combined with the untraditional black tableware, creates a cool and modern vibe.

To add to the good ambience, the workers are very welcoming to their guests, accommodating the needs of customers as quickly as possible. There is no need to worry if you cannot speak Chinese; the waiters and waitresses are able to speak English well, and the menus are written in English.

During my visit to Taste of Original, I ordered the Beef Noodle Roll, Salt and Pepper Fish Filet, and Stir Fried Green Beans with garlic sauce. With my food, I was offered a selection of four different teas. If tea is not for you, there are other beverages including water and soda.

The noodle rolls at Taste of Original are very popular, consisting of a meat such as pork, shrimp, beef, etc., wrapped with rice noodles and topped with a homemade sweet sauce. This combination of simple ingredients brings a very delicious taste and good texture from the rice noodle. Noodle rolls are therefore a good dish to order if you haven’t tried Chinese food before.

The Stir Fried Green Beans have a nice snappy texture from being stir fried in oil first and later mixed in with the garlic sauce. I would definitely recommend having the green beans with a side of rice in order to balance out their savory flavor.

Finally, the Salt and Pepper Fish Fillet is a deep fried fish dish seasoned with salt and pepper and cooked with jalapeños for some extra spice. An explosion of flavor and very crispy texture makes the dish both interesting and delicious. I would recommend eating this dish with a side of rice to balance out the palette and complement the dish.

Overall, I had an amazing experience at the restaurant. There was a very homey atmosphere and the staff were quite welcoming. The great service, yummy food, and wide variety of Chinese dishes, earns this restaurant a 4.5 star rating. I would highly recommend you try it yourself.
